ANSI/AARST CCAH-2020, explained
ANSI/AARST CCAH-2020, published under the title Reducing Radon in New Construction of One & Two Family Dwellings and Townhouses, is the AARST consensus standard covering rough-in of radon control system components for this class of building. It is harmonized to complement ANSI/AARST RRNC, the standard that governs the rough-in construction activities themselves, and adds the verification and activation requirements that follow once a house is built.
Like every AARST radon standard, CCAH-2020 only applies where a jurisdiction has adopted it, whether directly or by reference through the IRC radon appendix. Adoption is not automatic, and the naming of the parallel IRC appendix has changed across code cycles.
